Physical Security · UniFi Access
Ubiquiti UniFi Access. Control who gets in.
Replace physical keys and mechanical locks with a managed access control system. Know who accessed every door, when, and revoke access instantly from anywhere.
IronSights are licensed Ubiquiti UniFi Access installers. We design the system around your site, install it to a professional standard, and configure access policies for your team structure.
The UniFi Access platform
Modern access control. Simple to manage.
UniFi Access replaces legacy access control with a platform built for how businesses operate today. Cloud-optional, credential-flexible, and managed from a single console.
From a single entry door to a multi-floor office campus — the same platform scales to fit.
UniFi Access Hub
Central controller managing all door readers and credentials. Scales from one door to hundreds across multiple sites.
UA-Reader Pro
NFC, Bluetooth, and card reader hardware for door frames. Supports multiple credential types simultaneously — card, PIN, and mobile.
UniFi Access app
Mobile app for iOS and Android. Grant access, review door logs, and lock or unlock from anywhere in the world.
Web console
Full management interface for administrators. User groups, schedules, access levels, and complete audit logs in one place.
What's included
Eight access control capabilities.
Every credential type, policy option, and management capability configured and commissioned by IronSights at installation.
NFC cards & fobs
Standard proximity cards and key fobs. Easy to manage in bulk for large workforces.
Mobile NFC credentials
Use a smartphone or Apple Watch to unlock doors via NFC. No separate card required.
PIN codes
Individual or shared PIN codes for areas where carrying a card isn't practical.
Remote lock & unlock
Lock, unlock, and grant temporary access from anywhere via the UniFi Access app. Instant response when a credential is reported lost.
Access audit logs
Complete log of every door event: who, which credential, which door, what time. Suitable for internal investigation and insurance.
Time-based policies
Set access hours per user or group. After-hours access automatically denied without manual intervention.
Role-based groups
Assign door access by role. Finance staff access the finance floor, not the server room.
Visitor credentials
One-time or time-limited credentials for visitors, contractors, and temporary staff. Expires automatically.
Credential options
Multiple credential types supported simultaneously. Staff can use their phone, a card, a PIN, or a smartwatch. Different access points can require different credential types.
- NFC cards and fobs
- Mobile NFC via smartphone (iOS & Android)
- Apple Watch and Wear OS credentials
- PIN codes, individual or shared
- Temporary one-time visitor credentials

Access policy options
UniFi Access policies go beyond simple on/off. Time-based scheduling, role-based groups, dual authorisation, and automatic scheduling replace manual management with structured governance.
- Time-based access, auto-deny after hours
- Role-based groups by department or function
- Dual authorisation for high-security areas
- Automatic door scheduling for open/close
- Remote override for unexpected access needs
- Instant revocation on credential loss or staff departure
What you gain
Complete control, complete audit trail.
Four concrete outcomes from every UniFi Access installation, maintained on an ongoing basis after handover.
Access controlled
No more physical keys that can be copied or lost without detection. Every credential managed centrally, revoked instantly when needed.
Remote management
Grant access, lock doors, and review logs from anywhere in the world. No need to be on-site to handle an access request or security incident.
Audit trail preserved
Every door event logged with user, credential, door, and timestamp. Evidence for internal investigations, insurance claims, and compliance reporting.
Integrated posture
Physical access logs feed into your overall security monitoring picture. An insider threat leaves a trail in door events and cyber systems simultaneously.
Common questions
UniFi Access questions answered.
Ready to replace your physical keys? Contact us for a site assessment conversation.
Talk to a specialist →Can UniFi Access work alongside our existing IT infrastructure?
Yes. UniFi Access integrates natively with UniFi networking equipment. For non-UniFi networks, the Access Hub and readers operate on any standard network. We assess your infrastructure at the site assessment stage.
How do we handle staff onboarding and offboarding?
New staff credentials are provisioned in the UniFi Access console or app in under a minute. On departure, credentials are revoked immediately — from anywhere. No physical key collection required.
What happens if the internet goes down?
UniFi Access is a local system. The Access Hub and door readers operate independently of your internet connection. Offline access control continues without interruption. Remote management requires internet access, but the doors continue to work normally.
Can we integrate door access with our CCTV?
Yes. UniFi Protect and UniFi Access are integrated natively. Door access events are linked to camera footage from the nearest camera. You can see exactly who unlocked a door and what happened immediately after.
Do you hold the required licences?
Yes. IronSights holds NSW Master Security Licence 000109187. All physical security work is performed or supervised by licenced security technicians in compliance with state and territory requirements.
